It’s a new year, and with that comes a whole new calendar of events.
As you probably know, Scouts Australia hosted a Jamboree in Sydney in January. Many of our Scouts went, and we will be seeing some of them during the first week to discuss what Jamboree is all about and what sorts of activities they got to do.
Cubs start back this coming week, on the 1st February. We are back in the hall at Bolwarra Primary! We will have more space for Cubs and activities, so please, bring along any friends that are interested in joining.
Our District upcoming activities calendar looks like this:
21/2/2016 (Sunday): BP Birthday Bash. The yearly celebration of Baden Powell, the Founder of Scouts. This year it will be held at Speers Point Park. Feel free to bring along fishing gear (which can also be used for badgework!) or boats, so the whole family can enjoy the day. The E1 for this can be downloaded here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByiMEQIuU9wcOE4tMERDS3NDc28/view
23/2/2016 (Tuesday): District Swimming Night at Branxton Pool. Cubs can earn level 1 and level 2 Swimming badges by attending. Please arrive around 5:30pm for a 6pm start. The night will end around 8pm. Cub fee will be $10, parents and siblings $4 each. Parents and siblings will need the note as well. If you haven’t received a copy by email, please contact your leader.
5/3/2016 – 6/3/2016 (Saturday and Sunday): Cub Leadership Course at Jubilee Street Scout Hall. This is for invited Cubs only, who show leadership skills, or the potential to be a leader of their peers. From 10am on Saturday, to 2pm on Sunday, the cost will be $25. Those who are selected will be notified.
18/3/2016 – 20/3/2016 (Friday to Sunday): Hunter Valley Field Days. There will be the potential for Cubs and their families to be involved. As further information is released to leaders, we will let you know.
We look forward to seeing everyone this year.
Do Your Best.
