In Term 2, we had a Masterchef Italian night, learnt how to tell time and direction by the stars, played lots of fun games, did messy science experiments and took part in Region Rally.
We learnt about taking care of the environment, constructed structures, and had LaserTag come to us. We used tomahawks, built fires, and invited the cubs along to share in our campfire – complete with skits and smores.
Eleven Scouts and three leaders went along to Region Rally in May. This year it was held in an urban environment, with patrols of Scouts having to find their way around Newcastle CBD and Stockton, participating in activities along the way. Despite a showery start, the weather ended up being quite kind to us, and everyone had a great time.

During Term 1, 2015, we focused on Campcraft badge. Some Scouts went on a challenging hike in the Blue Gum Forest, Blue Mountains and many of us finished off the term with investitures and a night hike at Mt Sugarloaf. We also participated in Clean Up Australia Day, had the Lower Hunter Venturers drop by for a night, raised awareness of Scouts by making mini-catapults at a Bunnings Community Night and helped out with traffic control at Steamfest.
Our last night was an informal night at Flip Out Trampolining at Thornton.
