On Sat 13 Sep 2014, 7 Scouts travelled to Brokenback to participate with other Scouts in the Upper and Lower Hunter District BRAF (Basic Rock Familiarisation Activities) Rock-climbing day. A fun time was had by all!
During Term 3, Scouts focused on the Campcraft badge.
Weekly activities included a pancake toss, stove night, anti-bullying / teamwork night, navigation and geocaching, a Masterchef night, letter box drop for Scouting promotion and Laser Tag.
Other activities included a BRAF rock-climbing day, a promotional Scouting Sausage Sizzle and the Bunnings BBQ fundraiser.
Yogi also attended her Basic Sectional Training weekend as a requirement for becoming a certified leader.
In Term 2, Scouts focused on the Construction badge.
Weekly activities included a games night, food preparation and packing for Region Rally, building and racing chariots, campfire and skits, rope bridge creation, flagpole building and ten pin bowling.
We had a combined excursion with Joeys and Cubs to Fort Scratchley in Newcastle, and toured the tunnels (on a cold, windy day!)
Several Scouts also helped at a working bee at Jubilee Street Hall for Job Week.
Scouts and Leaders also formed the colour party for the Hunter & Coastal Region Scout Council at Paterson Park.
On 29th and 30th March, 10 Scouts and 5 adults (leaders and parents / grandparents) went on an overnight hike to Pindar Cave in the Brisbane Water National Park.
